Self-Care as a Starting Place
Welcome to my new blog and website! My goal is to provide you with helpful resources in this space. Please feel free to reach out with questions and feedback.
While I cringe at this point when I hear the word “unprecedented,” the reality is that we truly are living in unprecedented times. We are collectively navigating through a season of trauma. We continue to face challenges and losses related to the pandemic, racial injustice, political tension, and more. However, we have the opportunity to choose how we respond.
One important response is to practice physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self-care. Physical self-care includes intentionality around sleep, nutrition, and exercise. Mental and emotional self-care includes practices like journaling, reading, establishing healthy boundaries, and counseling. Spiritual self-care may look like praying or participating in a worship service. Throughout the next few weeks, I’ll share specific exercises and suggestions for self-care practices on social media.
