About Dr. Wildasin

Dr. Hannah Wildasin’s journey into the world of mental health began in high school. She was a student athlete and had an injury her senior year. She tore her ACL in warm ups of her all-star game—not even the actual match! In response, she experienced symptoms of depression but fought through the injury and recovery and had the opportunity to play volleyball in college at a Division I school. However, her freshman year, she experienced a season of depression and wrestled through existential questions related to life purpose and meaning. These questions served as the catalyst for seeking out counseling. Through that experience she grew and began to recognize the importance of addressing one’s mental health. After finishing her undergraduate studies, she completed her Master of Arts in Counseling degree and went on to earn a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University. She is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Maryland and has over 14 years of counseling experience. This experience includes working with athletes through Dr. Jarrod Spencer’s Mind of the Athlete. She is also a professor at Eastern University. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and four children (especially in nature!) and coaching girls volleyball.

“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.”
